Our story begins in Singapore

...A sunny island at the southernmost point of continental Asia. The busy trading port attracted immigrants from many nearby countries from the 19th century, creating a local population rich & diverse in culture, language and of course, food. By the 21st century, it had grown from a fishing village to a vibrant metropolis.

Our founder, Megan

...Grew up alongside Singapore’s rising skyscrapers and growing mega-malls - but her fondest childhood memories always centred around the city’s heritage sites. Whether it was after school with her friends, or on the weekends with her family, many of her favourite moments revolved around her local hawker centres - open food courts housing the most incredible variety of independent street food vendors.

So when Megan first moved to London

...It is little surprise that despite falling in love with her new home, she became homesick for authentic Singaporean flavours. She turned to her wok for comfort, to recreate the tastes of her childhood in Singapore. Her nostalgic dinners quickly grew into a passion for sharing authentic Singaporean food culture with her newfound ‘Homis’ in the UK - friends who became family.

Fast forward to present day

...And here we are - on a mission at Homi Kitchen to deliver the best, boldest and 100% authentic CRAZY RICH FLAVOURS of Singapore to the world. It all begins with our Giga Chilli Sauce, the ginger & garlic chilli sauce from the famous Singaporean Hainanese Chicken Rice. A single spoonful of our Giga Chilli Sauce is all it takes to transport you to the lively hawker centres of Singapore.
